JAPANESE AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING RESEARCH ON DEVELOPMENT

The Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development carries cash prizes of US $45,000 plus travel expenses to GDN’s Ninth Annual Global Development Conference in Brisbane, Australia in January, 2008. An Award of US $30,000 will be given to the institution whose proposed research in one of the five themes (described below) holds the greatest promise for improving our understanding ofdevelopment. One prize of US $5,000 will be given to the institution of the other finalist to continue work in the chosen research area. The funds will be used to support the undertaking of the submitted research proposal. Funding for the Award is generously provided by the Ministry of Finance, Government of Japan. The deadline for submitting the online registration form, full proposal in the application template (available at www.gdnet.org/2007awards) and CVs of applicants (team members) is September 17, 2007.
