Online Master's Degree in Conflictology with the United Nations and the Open University of Catalonia

The United Nations Institute for training and Research is currently accepting application for the web-based International Master’s degree in Conflictology by UNITAR and the Open University of Catalonia. The degree is designed for working professionals in the field of peace and security. 
  
Scholarship are available on a competitive basis and special discounts may apply to citizens from Least Developed Countries and United Nations Volunteers. The deadline for applications to start in the Fall 2014 is on 01 July 2014. 
  
The International Master’s Degree in Conflictology presents empirical knowledge and insight on conflict resolution, transformation, mediation and management, for conflicts of all importance, be they interpersonal or global. Practitioners and academics from prestigious universities, the United Nations and peace research institutes guide participants through the virtual learning environment, enabling them to learn about the peaceful resolution of conflicts and prepare for professional practice. This programme trains participants in all applications of conflictology and facilitates the development of professional projects by giving participants access to the largest network of people working to promote peace.

The Mead Scholarships and Fellowships program

Deadline- 30 April 2013

University of the Arts London is accepting applications for Mead scholarships & fellowships program in the fields of art, design, fashion and media. The objective of Mead Scholarships and Fellowships aim to help students and recent graduates extend and develop their practice, expertise, interests and knowledge in one of three areas: creative practice, academic or post doctoral research, or social enterprise. They are designed to support recipients in the pursuit of excellence in fields which cannot easily be accommodated in a traditional academic or commercial environment.

The Mead Scholarship will provide up to three awards of up to £2,500 each for undergraduate students who have already exhibited a high level of creative potential and excellence in practice, and have one further year of study at UAL following receipt of the grant, thus allowing them the summer period before entering their final year of study to develop a body of research and/or practice at a crucial time.

The Mead Fellowship will provide up to two awards of up to £10,000 each to new and recent graduates, allowing them the time and flexibility to develop a body of research and/or practice after their graduation.

New scholarships for Full-time MBA in Germany

ESMT European School of Management and Technology is offering several additional merit-based scholarships for applicants to the Full-time MBA program beginning January 2010 in Berlin. These scholarships have been made possible by ESMT’s partner companies, who have donated to the scholarship pool. Outstanding female candidates may also apply for a limited number of full-tuition scholarships. ESMT’s partners are a group of 25 global companies, such as Allianz, BMW, Daimler, Deutsche Bank, MAN, Siemens, The Boston Consulting Group, and ThyssenKrupp.

ESMT is also expanding its Corporate Fellowship Program, which offers students an alternative means of financing their MBA program, while at the same time guaranteeing an attractive career opportunity after graduation at one of ESMT’s founding companies. ESMT matches the applicant’s profile to the recruitment needs of the corporate partner, such as insurance giant Allianz and Europe’s leading utility company E.ON.

The partner company supports the fellow throughout their studies in the MBA program and during a 6-month traineeship period in the company upon graduation. Fellowship on Sustainability Science Program at Harvard University's Center for International Development

The Sustainability Science Program at Harvard University's Center for International Development offers doctoral, post-doctoral, and mid-career fellowships in Sustainability Science. The fellowships are tenable at the Center for International Development during Harvard's academic year beginning in September 2010. Fellowships are available for 10 months (September 2010-May 2011), 12 months (September 2010-August 2011), the fall semester (September-December 2010), the spring semester (February-May 2011), or for two academic years (post-doctoral fellows only) (September 2010-August 2012).

Each year, the Sustainability Science Program recruits approximately 15-20 fellows to work with one another and with Harvard faculty. Candidates who are offered a fellowship will be paired with a Harvard faculty host who has related interests. Applicants may identify potential faculty hosts in the on-line application, but applicants are not required to secure a host before applying. A list of Harvard faculty with interests related to sustainability science is provided on the web pages of the Sustainability Science Program Faculty Affiliates, Harvard's Center for International Development and the Center for the Environment. Any member of the teaching faculty from any discipline at Harvard can serve as a host, regardless of whether the host has had a prior affiliation with the Sustainability Science Program or with any of the Centers listed above.
